My journey as a Found Object Artist is a testament to my creativity, resilience, and passion for art.

Hi, I’m Susan Doherty, a Found Object Artist based in Glen Innes. My work is all about transforming everyday items into extraordinary art pieces, infusing each creation with vibrant creativity and unique storytelling.
My artistic journey has been incredibly dynamic, ranging from intricate sculptures to exquisite jewellery. Every piece I create tells a story, crafted from found objects. I love exploring new themes and techniques, which keeps my portfolio rich and diverse.
To stand out and highlight my unique approach, I embrace the title “Found Object Artist.”
Community connection is important to me. Since moving to Glen Innes from Cairns, I’ve participated in several group exhibitions and am planning to open my studio to the public. I want to foster a closer connection with the local arts scene and invite art enthusiasts to experience my creative process firsthand.
Sharing my knowledge is a passion of mine. I offer workshops for adults to help others explore their creativity through found object art and am considering mentorship opportunities for high school students interested in assemblage and sculpture.
Looking ahead, I’m excited about the possibilities of joining national and international art residencies and exploring performance arts, including puppetry.
I invite you to join me on this adventure and discover the magic of found object art.
